Libyan NTC Names Cabinet, Appoints Benyiza as Oil Minister

Libya's National Transitional Council named a new interim cabinet of 24 ministers, including the appointment of Abdulrahman Benyiza as oil minister, said Acting Prime Minister Abdurrahim el-Keib.

Aashur bin Khayal was named foreign minister and Osama Jwaili was appointed as defense minister, el-Keib said in a televised press conference outside Tripoli today. Hassan Ziklam was named interim finance minister, Fawzi Adulaali will hold the interim interior ministry post and Mohammed Ftisi takes the industry portfolio, said el-Keib, who retains his position.

Mustafa Abdel Jalil was named interim president and two vice presidents were also appointed, Mustafa Bushaga and Omar Abdul Karim.
