Cyprus' Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Neoklis Sylikiotis has expressed his country's great interest in getting involved in activities in Libya’s construction industry, in a period in which the country is in a process of reconstruction.
Asked about the results of the visit that a Cypriot delegation paid to Libya, at the end of April, with the participation of foreign minister Erato Kozakou Markoullis, health minister Stavros Malas and himself, Sylikiotis said that this was a very successful visit that showed that “we can act quickly to create contacts and relations at the highest ministerial level something which facilitates relations and investments between the two countries.”
He added that as a Mediterranean and a EU member state, Cyprus has particular sensitivity in the development of relations with its southern neighbours, the states of the Arab world and North Africa.
He said that the effort of the government is to promote prospects for Cypriot companies in the construction sector at Libya.
