The head of Libya's National Transitional Council said on Sunday that the government was ready to make progress in payments to Turkish construction companies.
Mustafa Abd-al Jalil said that Libyan government was ready to make some progress in payments to Turkish construction companies that had undertaken several projects in the country some time ago.
"Libyan people expect these companies to re-handle their projects in Libya as soon as possible," Jalil told reporters after meeting Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan in Tripoli.
Jalil said they would set up a commission comprised of representatives of two countries to assess the losses of companies.
Mustafa Abd-al Jalil said Turkish government had kept its promises to restore and repair several public buildings including police stations, hospitals and schools, and fulfilled those projects free of charge.
