Libya's National Transition Council (NTC) President Mustapha Abdeljalil on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Mohamed Morsi following his election as Egypt's President.
In the message, President Abdeljalil congratulated the Egyptian people on behalf of the NTC members as well as the Libyan government and people for the success of the electoral process and the achievement of the objectives of the Egyptian revolution.
The NTC President also expresses his government's willingness to forge strong ties between the two countries.
Mr. Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate, won the 16-17 June runoff with 51.73 per cent of the votes, against 48.27 per cent by his opponent, Ahmed Shafiq, the last Prime Minister of the ousted Mubarak regime.
