Offshore Opportunities for Chinese Company

Libya Herald reports that the newly-appointed agent for Yuandong International, the Chinese dredging and salvage company, already in talks with the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and other oil companies about offshore work.

Mohamed Douas, CEO of M&M Shipping, told the news agency:

"Yuandong is well placed and ready to play an active role in the local oil and gas industry as well as the Libyan ports’ infrastructure."

Yuandong specialises in underwater services such as drilling and blasting, salvage and underwater pipe-laying.

According to Libya Herald, M&M Shipping is a new private venture within a group of logistics and transport industry companies, including Atheka Aviation and Libyan Shipping Line SA. Serving the country’s main ports, the Libyan company provides shipping and transport services and acts as shipping agent to the oil and gas industry.
