Libya's Ministry of Electricity is working on a project to install a solar (photovoltaic) power station in the city of Hun.
A meeting on Sunday to discuss the project was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohammed Khalat, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Ibrahim Saleh, and Director General of the National Commission for Environment, Saleh Almlessi.
A number of representatives of government institutions and civil society organizations and Jufrah region communities participated in the meeting.
A number of specialists and experts presented a brief account on the project which will contribute to the achievement of sustainable development and employment.
According to the report from Libya Investment, the plant will generate either 14 or 24MW, which it says is enough to supply 1,500 to 2,000 homes.
