Protesters stormed Libya’s General National Congress on Tuesday, disrupting a vote on the new cabinet proposed by Prime Minister Elect Ali Zeidan [Zidan].
Fewer than 100 protesters, made up of civilians and former rebel fighters, objected to several cabinet nominees, including the minister of Islamic affairs, who they said was a secularist.
President Mohamed Yusuf al-Magariaf [Magarief] (pictured) adjourned the vote until Wednesday morning. “Let it be known to all Libyans and to the whole world in what conditions we are working in,” he said during the session, which was televised.
