Libya Herald reports that a delegation of Belgian health experts is visiting Libya from 1st to 3rd December.
Several Libyans wounded in last year’s conflict are currently being treated in Belgian hospitals, according to a statement from the Belgian embassy in Tripoli.
The World Economic Forum reportedly ranks Belgium in 2nd place out of 142 countries in the Forum’s 2011-12 Global Competitiveness Report for healthcare and primary education services.
The Healthcare Belgium delegation will put forward a series of proposals to address both the short and mid-term needs of the Libyan population.
Healthcare Belgium is a non-profit organisation established in 2007 by the most prominent Belgian hospital groups.
The organisation receives substantial support from the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (VBO-FEB) and leaders of the medical technology industry in Belgium.
