Following the Middle East Association (MEA)’s successful trade mission to Libya in December 2012 and ahead of it’s follow-up mission in March 2013, the MEA, supported by UKTI, will be hosting an innovative workshop on how to do business in Libya for UK businesses looking to invest in the country. This will take place at Bury House in London on Tuesday 5th February 2013, 9am-6pm.
This interactive event will begin with a political and economic overview, followed by a series of speakers providing expertise on fundamental business practices in Libya, such as licensing, registering your business, winning tenders and tax regulations etc. The workshop will include speakers from the Embassy, UKTI and various private sector companies with experience of doing business in Libya.
The Libyan economy is expected to recover rapidly from 2010-2011 levels and there is strong UK government support for developing long-term relationships with Libya, both at the ministerial level and through an increased range of products from UK Export Finance.
As the Libyans lay out the future plans for their economy and the rebuilding of their country, this is an ideal time for UK companies to start thinking about investing in the market and establishing their relationships and presence in Libya.
