The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary- General for Libya, Mr. Tarek Mitri, has visited Misrata [Misurata] to meet with the city's Local Council, Advisory Council and civil society organizations.
Discussions during these meetings covered a range of issues, including decentralization, national reconciliation, transitional justice, the selection of the constitution drafting body, and local government and administration.
“The United Nations is committed to support Libya as per its request and its vision for the future in full accordance with the principles of national ownership,” Mr. Mitri said.
Addressing a number of civil society organizations, also pledged to support local authorities and civil society organizations where appropriate as they address the challenges ahead.
