The Libyan Central Bank has started to pay the LD 1,000 ($800) grant to every Libyan family to celebrate last October's Eid Al-Adha.
The grant, approved by the General National Congress, was intended to help buy a sheep to slaughter.
The bank said that all payment should be processed within two days.
