During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Abdulbari Alarusi [Al Arusi] is reported to have disclosed that a Saudi businessman has been in preliminary talks to invest $67 million for a cement factory in Misrata [Misurata].
The investor was also said to be in discussions on a further $54 million project for a sugar factory, also in Misrata.
Libya Herald reports that the city was chosen because of its free trade zone; the investor is said to be considering exporting from Libya to Europe.
