The Libyan Minister for Labour and Retraining, Fitouri Sualim [Mohamed Fitouri Ahmed Sualim], has said that Libya may engage with Azerbaijan on a number of oil and gas projects.
He told the Azerbaijani news agency Trend:
"Azerbaijan and Libya have a high potential for cooperation in the field of oil and gas both at the level of state and private sector ... There is a desire between these countries to strengthen relations and enhance their level of cooperation."
In April, the Azerbaijan Methanol Company (AzMeCo) said it would invest in the construction and development of petrochemical and oil refinery plants in Libya. Company Chairman, Nizami Piriyev (pictured), said the company was interested in the oil and gas sector of Libya, in particular in the development of various projects jointly with the Libyan companies.
