Libya Herald reports that the Libyan International Telecommunications Company (LITC) has signed a contract with French manufacturer Alcatel for the installation of new switches for international calls to cover the Benghazi-Derna region.
LITC -- a subsidiary of the Libyan Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Holding Company (LPTIC) -- is the main international wholesale provider for voice and data in Libya.
