Libya's state-owned Shorooq Handling and Ground Services has announced that it handled 24,921 flights in 2012, according to Tripoli Post.
The Ministry of Transport said the figures referred only to Tripoli International Airport, although previous data reported from Shorooq appeared to cover all Libyan airports where it had operations.
A partial breakdown of flights handled by Shorooq during 2012 is as follows:
- Tunisair 1,601;
- Turkish Airlines 1,477;
- Buraq Air 1,177;
- Oil service flights 1,160;
- Egyptair 1,054;
- Royal Jordanian 677.
- Air Malta 329;
- Lufthansa 262;
- Royal Air Maroc 245;
- Ghadames Air Transport 193;
- Austrian Airlines 173;
- United Aviation 115;
- British Airways 71;
- Air Algerie 43;
- Qatar Airways 23;
- Emirates 18; and,
- Others 362.
