The cracker refinery at Ras Lanuf has not restarted and there are no signs that it will restart in the near future, a company source has said.
The news contradicts recent reports suggesting a restart in the second half of May, and that Libya could be ready to export from early June.
The company source told ICIS, "even if it [the cracker] restarts, it will take 30 days to fill the tank".
The last news directly from NOC was that a restart was unlikely before the start of 2013.
The plant, which was closed by the revolution in February 2011, can produce 330,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, and 170,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
