The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has issued a statement condemning the armed attacks against the legitimate security institutions of the Libyan State in Benghazi and expressed deep regret for the loss of life as a result of the violence.
The Mission calls on all Libyans to rally around their legitimate institutions, both civilian and military, to enable them to carry out their duties of ensuring security and stability.
UNSMIL urges Libyans to reject violence in all its forms and all acts of retaliation. The Mission reiterates the necessity of resolving disagreements peacefully and through dialogue.
