Libyan Airlines plans to launch a Tripoli-Tunis-Montreal service next year, reports Tripoli Post.
The flights will use the newly-delivered Libyan Airlines' A330-200 fleet on a codeshare arrangement with Tunisair.
Currently neither Libyan Airlines nor Tunisair offer any transatlantic routes, although prior to 2011 state-owned Afriqiyah Airways had plans for a direct Tripoli-Washington service.
Libyan Airlines has a further three A330s on order from Airbus, and intends to expand its network of long-haul routes, especially to Southeast Asia.
