Libya Herald, citing a leaked memo purporting to come from a senior official at Mellitah Oil & Gas, reports that production is set to re-start at the El Fil [El Feel, Elephant] oilfield west of Murzuk
The field, a joint venture between the NOC and Italy’s Eni, has a capacity of 130,000 bpd, but stopped pumping several weeks ago after staff were pulled out following a dispute with mainly Tebu workers over salaries and other benefits.
The move follows reports of an agreement with the protesters.
