Malta has reached an agreement with Libya to become a centre from which Libya can service Europe in the energy sector.
Prime Minster Joseph Muscat said that, now that the interconnector is in place, Malta looks forward to becoming an energy hub from which Libya can supply energy to Europe.
The country will also act as a centre for servicing the Libyan oil and gas industry when it comes to the English Language. The government will transform the Ta’ Giorni centre and make all the necessary upgrades in the equipment so that Malta can help to service the oil and gas industry in Libya with English language capabilities.
