The National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its operating partner, Sonatrach (SIPEX) Libya, together with Oil India and Indian Oil, have discovered gas at contract area 95/96 in the Ghadames Basin.
The well is located approximately 800 km southwest of Tripoli and 120 km south of El-Wafa Field.
The initial production test result from the Ordovician Mamouniyat Formation is as follow:
This well B1-95/02 represents the Second discovery well drilled by the company in this contract area.
The companies signed an exploration and sharing agreement for area 95/96 in May 2008.
