The National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its operating partner, the Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC, PGNiG) have discovered gas at contract area 113/1 in the Murzeq [Murzuq] Basin.
The well is located approximately 750 km south-West of Tripoli and 150 km North West of El-Sharara Field.
The initial production test result from the Carboniferous Tahara Formation is as follows:
This well A1-113/1 represents the first discovery well drilled by the company in this contract area.
The companies signed an exploration and sharing agreement for area 113/1,2 in May 2008.
