About 25 Libyan businessmen have visited Expo Pakistan 2013, held on September 26-29 in Karachi, Pakistan, to explore business opportunities in various product sectors. The visit was organized by the Commercial Section of Embassy of Pakistan in Tripoli, Libya.
Representatives of different companies from Libya include those from textiles including:
- tents, tarpaulin, and readymade garments;
- tractors, agriculture machinery and auto spare parts;
- stationery and office equipment;
- sports goods;
- food and general products;
- construction material;
- beauty products;
- shoes and leather products; and
- other consumer goods.
A delegation of Libyan Businessmen Council of Misurata, headed by Mr. Bashir Ibrahim Trabelsi was also among the Libyan delegates.
The delegation had meetings with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and with Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).
An MoU was also signed between the Libyan Businessmen Council, Misurata, and KCCI wherein both the sides agreed to enhance bilateral trade cooperation between the business communities of both the countries.
It was also agreed that KCCI will organize an exhibition of its member companies in Misurata in collaboration with the Libyan Businessmen Council. The Libyan delegates highly appreciated the hospitality extended to them.
They also appreciated the products showcased at the exhibition and assured full support to promote bilateral trade. A good number of deals were made by the Libyan delegates during the event.
