The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Dr Nuri Berruien [Nuri Balrwin] Dr. Nouri Balrwin, held a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, H.E Ms. Deborah K. Jones, on Monday.
Also attending the meeting were Mr. Josh Goldberg, trade and economic officer at the embassy, and Mr. Mustafa Sanalla, a member of NOC management committee.
The two parties discussed the activities of American oil and gas companies in Libya, with Dr. Balrwin emphasising that Libya is one of the most promising countries in this field and has plans to develop refineries and to establish a number of petrochemical plants.
The ambassador praised the role of NOC in supporting the oil and gas sector and said these projects will contribute to the development of the sector and to raise the morale of the employees.
Also she expressed her country's willingness to assist in the training of the oil and gas personnel and to encourage the American oil companies to invest in Libya.
