The Libyan government has decided to increase the salaries of workers at the National Oil Corporation (NOC), and its affiliated companies, by 67 percent.
The Oil and Gas Ministry made the announcement after the proposal was accepted by the government on Wednesday.
The increases will become effective from the start of January.

This is the right decision of Libyan Government to attract efficient expatriate employees to work in Libyan oil companies with this risky environment. Presently salary of the expatriate employees[ especially expatriates] even lesser than half of the salary from any oil companies in the world… in fact they should have raised 100% to compete with international oil companies. Government should take proper action to improve the facilities & other benefits also including insurance for expatriate employees.
I agree completely with you Raja. In fact Sirte Oil Company pay the lowest salaries to expatriates among all NOC companies. We hope that NOC will instruct SOC to adjust all expats salaries (especially for Middle East and Far East employees)to be equivalent to other Oil companies before applying the new increment.
Dear Melanta & Basil, the news is a big welcome but if you notice there's no mention of 'expats' in the news. Anyway it's high time our remunerations are revised to that of international market. All the best.
This is the very sweet news from NOC to hear.Thank you very much.I hope implementation will be for all the employees irrespective of nationalities. Let us hope for the best.
