EU Ambassador Nataliya Apostolova has visited the Libyan National Library restoration project in Tripoli. UNESCO Country director and Library staff briefed the Ambassador on the different phases of the project.
The Ambassador encouraged the Libyan authorities to benefit from an EU funded regional program to support cultural heritage in the Southern Neighbourhood Region.
The Ambassador stressed that EU priorities in Libya also includes promoting culture and heritage protection and preservation. Apostolova said, “Culture is an incredible envoy of a country”.
