Reuters reports that Libya has asked the international community to help protect its oilfields, airports and other important infrastructure against the militias.
The country's ambassador in Cairo, Mohamed Jibril, said on Monday that Libya was unable to protect its key resources.
The plea came as attackers fired rockets at Labraq airport in eastern Libya, one of the country's few functioning airports.
