The French Defense Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian (pictured) has called for international action to protect Libya's territorial integrity and erradicate foreign radical Islamist groups in the southern desert.
In an interview with French radio station Europe1 in Chad, where he met French troops, the Minister said:
"In 2015, we need initiatives to protect (Libya's) territorial integrity and annihilate terror groups in Southern Libya,"
He added that military strikes would be useless without first engaging in a political negotiation.
