UNICEF and Taher Azzawi Charity Organization have signed an agreement to provide psychosocial support for 800 internally displaced families in Tripoli, Libya.
“UNICEF partnership with the Libyan civil society is crucial for the well being of the children in Libya,” said Mr. Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Special Representative in Libya.
The implementations will take place in four locations where displaced families reside in camps around the capital Tripoli. Children will be received in Child Friendly Spaces established inside the camps by Taher Azzawi Charity Organization and equipped with recreational kits by UNICEF.
The agreement is an outcome of UNICEF capacity building activities with Libyan civil society organizations to provide psychosocial support for the armed conflict affected children.
Three more agreements with local civil society organizations will be signed soon targeting internally displaced families in Sabratha, Surman and Beni Waleed cities in Libya.
