Egyptian fighter jets have bombed Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL) targets in Libya, hours after the group published a video of the apparent beheading of a group of Egyptian Coptic Christians.
The dawn strikes had targeted camps, training sites and weapons storage areas in the militant-held city of Derna (pictured).
A spokesman for Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni confirmed to the BBC that Egyptian jets had taken part in eight co-ordinated air strikes.
