Following the meeting of the Libyan political parties that took place in Algeria on Tuesday and Wednesday, High Representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini stated:
"The commitment of parties in Algiers to finding a peaceful, political solution to the Libyan crisis based on dialogue and respect, not violence, is a positive step in the right direction. I thank Algeria for having hosted this meeting.
"The meeting in Algiers has demonstrated the wide support in Libya for the political dialogue. The EU will continue to support the UN on the different tracks of the dialogue process and calls on all parties to work together in order to reach a political agreement which is necessary for putting an end to the deepening political and security crisis in the country."
