The Tuareg Social Council has demanded that Libya's Constitutional Drafting Assembly (CDA) should include the Berber language as one of the country's official languages.
Called Tarigia by the Tuareg themselves, it is related to Tamazight, the language of the Amazigh, and in Libya uses the same script, according to Libya Herald.
The Council, meeting in Bayda [Beida], also called for a review of the name of the state and its administrative system.
