A $1.05-million contract with Washington-based communications firm Qorvis/MSLGroup to work for the Libyan Embassy in the United States has reportedly been cancelled.
The agreement was originally signed in March by Wafa Bugaighis, Charge d’Affairs at the Libyan Embassy, representing the internationally recognised government in Tobruk.
Maghreb Confidential has published a copy of a letter from Bugaighis cancelling the contract from 23rd May. MC goes on to speculate that the reason may be that Qorvis recently began working for Al Jazeera America which is owned by Qatar, which it describes as the leading sponsor of the "rebel" government in Tripoli.
