According to a statement from the Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC), a meeting was successfully concluded on Tuesday 15 September 2015 between the NOC Chairman, Mustafa Sanalla, and the ENI Chief Officer for Upstream, Antonio Vella, accompanied by ENI N.A. Libya Branch General Manager.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the strategic major joint projects under implementation including the development of Bahr Essalam Phase II and the developments of offshore gas fields of structures A & E as well as other issues of mutual interest.
This is to emphasise the importance given by NOC and ENI partnership to the development of major projects aimed at increasing the gas production from the offshore fields to cover the increased demand of the local market and commitments to their international customers.
The NOC Chairman confirmed that the second phase of the development projects demonstrates positive steps being taken thanks to the efforts of the management and all those involved in the projects.
The NOC will announce in future the figures related to the progress of these projects and the achievements made by those working in the industry to secure the needs and demands of the local market for natural gas.
The meeting was concluded on the basis that the NOC and ENI will continue their close cooperation. This supports the NOCs core principles to remain an independent institution with its primary focus in serving the Libyan people in the Hydrocarbons sector.
