Reuters reports that militants from the Islamic State group (IS, ISIL, ISIS) have attacked forces guarding the Es Sider oil port on Thursday.
A gate at the port, which is controlled by forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, was targeted by a gun assault and an attempted car bomb.
A spokesman for the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) told Reuters that one guard was killed and two more were wounded.
Es Sider is one of the country's main oil ports, and has been closed since December because of fighting between militias and problems at oilfields supplying the port.
