The Libya Herald has reported that Libya’s Muslim Brotherhood has elected Ahmed Abdullah Al-Suqi as its new leader.
From Benghazi, but from a Misrata family, he replaces Bashir Kubti [Kupti], also from Misrata, who has been four years in the job.
The decision was made at the Brotherhood’s 10th Conference in Istanbul.
In a short statement, the Brotherhood said it supported the UN-brokered Libya talks and wanted peace in the country.
