More than 250 top oil industry executives attended the 4th New Libya Oil & Gas Forum 2015, organised by IRN, which held last week in London.
The event was opened by Mustafa Sanalla, Chairman of the National oil Corporation (NOC), who said that the large number of industry professionals and international oil companies (IOCs) attending the Forum demonstrates the global interest in Libya, and the desire to help the country overcome its difficulties.
While the oil and gas sector has suffered many difficulties in recent years, Mr Sanalla pointed out that that Libya has largest oil reserves in Africa, that its oil wealth is the only source of income to Libya, and that it is the property of all the Libyan people.
He emphasised that the NOC stands apart from the political conflict and works for the entire country of Libya.
Panel discussions included participants from the NOC and its associated companies, BP, KBC, and the Middle East Association, among others, while GardaWorld hosted a very successful workshop on security and risk management in Libya.
