The Beida-based Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has met with Benghazi Chamber of Commerce on Sunday to discuss the problem of the lack of cash at banks in the eastern region, which are now only allowing withdrawals of LD 250-500 per person per month.
According to a report by Libya Herald, it was agreed that local businesses would deposit their cash takings into their bank accounts, on condition that the banks would guarantee the availability of cash when they need it.
The CBL has also said the cash problem would be resolved by next week.
