A report from Middle East Eye says that the United Kingdom has launched covert military operations in Libya against Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL, Daesh) militants, with the support of Jordan.
According to leaked documents, Jordan's King Abdullah II Ibn Hussein told US congressional leaders that soldiers from Britain's elite Special Air Services (SAS) regiment have been sent to tackle an emerging IS threat in Libya.
It is the first official confirmation that British troops are operating inside Libya against IS.
