The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that an area adjacent to the Al-Baidha Oil Field, affiliated to Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), was treacherously attacked by an unidentified armed group on Saturday.
According to a statement from the NOC, Battalion 152 assumed the task of chasing and clashing with these gangs; as a result, "five of the best young men of the Battalion 152 were martyred and one of the employees of Arabian Gulf Oil Company is still missing. The gang ran away, yet the military force designated to protect the region is still in pursuit of this renegade group, which led to another clash at 11:00 p.m. in the district of (Qarat Johanim) on the way of Mrada - Zela. The pursuit and chase operation is continuing".
The Eighth Force of Petroleum Facilities Guards (PFG) in Sabah city also confronted "a treacherous assault nearby the storage area of Brega [Petroleum] Marketing Company in Sabah city. Consequently, four members of the Eighth Force were martyred."
