UNDP Libya Country Director (CD), Noura Hamladji visited Libya to kick starting the stabilization facility programme for Libya.
Accompanied by Programme Coordinator and Stabilization Facility project manager, the CD discussed with Municipality of Kikla to start the assessment on stabilization facility. The objective of the meeting was to consult and get first-hand information on the priorities of the municipalities.
Kikla is one of the municipalities in Western Libya selected by board to start the quick assessment. The Board decided that the first locations benefitting from the support of the Facility would be in Benghazi, Obari and Kikla.
The decision was made based on careful review of the selection criteria and consensus among the Board members that these three locations had experienced the most damage in the East, South and West regions of Libya respectively.
The Country Director has also met with national staff based in Tripoli.
