The head of Libya's Presidency Council has reportedly fired the entire board of the state-owned General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL).
According to the Libya Herald, Faiez Serraj, who is also Prime Minister-designate, said the GECOL management had failed to solve the problems of power cuts and electricity distribution.
He appointed Abdul Majid Hamza as the new President of GECOL, and Ali Mohammed Sassi as the Chief Executive, along with a seven-member board, all as interim positions.
