The U.S. military's Africa Command (Africom) has reportedly launched an airstrike near the town of Ubari on Saturday, killing two militants.
No civilians were reported to have been killed in the offensive, which was part of efforts to “disrupt and destroy terrorist organizations.”
The Islamic State group (IS, ISIS ISIL, Daesh) was driven from the coastal city of Sirte in 2016, but has continued to carry out insurgent-style attacks, according to Associated Press.
