Several news agencies report that Libya has requested international assistance to put out a fire at a large fuel storage depot on Tripoli’s Airport Road .
The site, which belongs to the Brega Oil and Gas Company, was hit by a rocket during clashes between rival militia.
With a capacity of 6.6 million litres of fuel, it is the main hub for distribution of petrol in Tripoli.
The government has warned that the huge blaze could cause a "humanitarian and environmental disaster".
