Thirty-eight Bangladeshi workers will fly for Libya today, as the war-torn country starts recruiting overseas workers after a pause of eight months.
An Italian company is recruiting these workers, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said at a press briefing, yesterday.
Another Libyan company sought to hire 34 of its former workers, who returned home following the civil war in Libya earlier this year, the minister said.
Libya would require a good number of workers for its reconstruction but recruitment on a regular basis would need more time, he added.
Over 36,000 Bangladeshi workers returned home in February on the wake of the recent crisis in Libya.
