The head of Libya's parliament, Mohamed Magarief [Magariaf] (pictured), was reportedly unharmed following an assassination attempt in Sabha [Sebha], 800km south of Tripoli.
Libya Herald reports that gunmen fired at a hotel, understood to be the Fezzan, on Friday evening, injuring three of his guards. The President and members of a GNC delegation were present for meetings with local officials and community leaders.
Reuters reports that the the attack was on Thursday evening at the President's home.
A spokesman for the Defence Ministry told Libya TV that that he believed the shooting had not been specifically aimed at the President.
