General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has ordered a relief plane, carrying urgent medical aid to the Libyan people to ease their suffering.

The move follows the directives by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support the Libyan people in the wake of recent events witnessed by the country.

The relief plane has arrived at Tripoli Airport, carrying huge quantities of medicines, medical devices and three ambulances, which were allocated for Sabha Hospital.

The shipment was prepared in accordance with the actual medical needs of the health sector in Libya amid great challenges being faced by the Sabha Hospital, which is admitting a lot of patients following the recent incidents there. UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) delegation headed by Dr Saleh Al Tayie, acting Deputy Secretary-General for the Relief and Projects, has arrived in Libya to assess the humanitarian situation there.
