Libya's interior minister, Fawzi Abdel Al [Fawzi Abdel-Aal, Fawzi Abdelali, Fawzi Abdel A'al], resigned on Sunday after legislators criticized him following a series of demolitions of shrines and a library by unknown attackers over the past two days.
Of particular concern has been the handling of the desecration of the Al-Sha’ab shrine in Tripoli on Saturday.
The Minister's resignation was announced by Ibrahim el-Sharkasiya, a senior official with the country’s higher security committee.
