The Libya Summit – One of the largest business events in Libya kicks off on a high note; Transformation and Stability beckon Libya.
Day one of the Libya Summit organized by Fleming Gulf Conferences at Tripoli, Libya saw many eminent speakers take on the audience with their powerful dialogues, speeches and presentation. The objective of the Libya Summit which will be held from 20th November to 22nd November is to discuss the transformation of Libya as a model of stability and economic excellence.
The event is speculated to be the biggest business event in Libya with key government officials from Libya and other international governments participating in the three-day summit. Delegates from the General National Congress of Libya, Ministry of Finance Libya, Turkish Prime Minister’s office, American Chamber of Commerce in Libya and other distinguished global organizations like the World Bank, World Health Organization, BBC, Barclays are expected to take part in the summit.
A special pre-conference session was held on the 19th November, where Mathew VanDyke shared his outstanding experience. Mathew VanDyke is a Middle East analyst who is the only non-Libyan American to fight alongside rebels from the Arab Spring as an accepted and official member of the National Liberation Army of Libya during the Libyan Civil War. With the pre-conference session, the Summit is committed to be a 4-day exchange and interaction with knowledge sharing sessions which includes 10+ hours of networking sessions, industry insights and interactive sessions with 40+ eminent speaker and panelists.
The inaugural key note speech for day one was delivered by Richard H Griffiths, the President of American Chamber of Commerce in Libya. While emphasizing on the role of the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya, he also spoke about trade relations between the two countries. The morning session saw Ahmed Shebani, Founder of Democratic Party of Libya, share his thoughts on building democracy in Libya. laa Murabit, Founder of the Voice of Libyan Women, was one of the speakers in the afternoon session to share her views and opinions on economic empowerment of women in Libya. It is for the first time that these topics have been addressed so broadly garnering tremendous response from the delegates present.
Hatem H. Benfayed, the CEO of Libya Housing Authority, Princess Alia Al-Senussi, Art Patron from Libyan Heritage Trust; Global Heritage Fund, Dr Kevin Dunseath, Director Global Education from Cisco, Dr. Saif AlJaibeji from the Institute of HealthCare Research -Cambridge Academy for Higher Education – CEO and Dr. Ahmed M. Shembesh, Founder of Libya Foundation for Rehabilitation will be amongst the eminent delegates to share their views and make presentations in the following two days of the Libya Summit. Princess Alia Al-Senussi will throw light on how Libya’s rich culture and heritage can be capitalized for the progression of the economy.
