Konecranes UK to Supply Power Plant Crane to Libya

ALGEC, formerly Alstom GEC, have ordered a Konecranes SMT SMARTON crane for a Libyan power plant. The Western Mountain Power Plant Libya is located near Al Hawamind, Nalut, Libya. It is a Gas Power Plant operated by ALGEC of Libya.

The 60t/12.5t/7.5t SMT double girder crane will operate on 10.7mt span. It will have an SMT double girder trolley with a CXT Aux hoist and a further CXT monorail trolley that can reach outside the crane operating envelop. Control will be be from a cabin and/alternatively remote radio with a stepless joystick speed control.

The contract worth 450,000 Euros will be delivered April 2013.
